January 2009 Contest: Twitterlicious

Description

Every month, I do a contest of sorts for free shirts from shirt.woot.  This month I want to focus on twitter.  I will be choosing a winner the first Monday in February.  When I choose a winner, I will purchase 4 woot shirts of their choice for them.  Official rules are below.

Rules

I’m keeping in simple this time.

You must follow me on Twitter at: www.twitter.com/jtgraphic.

You need to tweet and include the following information:

You must leave a comment here the first time you tweet.  There’s no need to do it ever time.  Leave your twitter username in the comment too, so I know how to track you down.

Each tweet is one entry in the contest, but you are only allowed one entry per day, so please don’t spam it.

If you’re interested in joining these contests as an ongoing thing, just subscribe to my blog via the email form.

Two New Woot Shirt Submissions

woot-breakout-detail1woot-springv2-detailI submitted some images to this week’s shirt.woot derby for your votes.  Click the images to the left or right (depending on which you’re interested in) to vote!  If you’re looking for more information about what woot.com or shirt.woot is, please check out this video from WootTV.

This week’s submission guidelines on shirt.woot are as follows:

“You’re penned in, cooped up, locked down. It’s cold outside, it’s boring inside. And there’s a long winter stretching out before you. Maybe it’s you and eighteen in-laws, maybe it’s just you and your cats and your Lean Cuisines. Either way, cabin fever is setting in, and you’re longing for release. Use this week’s Derby as an outlet for your claustrophobe tendencies – or your claustrophile tendencies, if you’re into that sort of thing.
No text this week.”

This derby is the first derby I’ve participated in, in a while, and I was working on a bunch of other things so they are a bit rushed.  The spring tree is a resubmission from earlier this year (I think derby #37).  I thought the butterfly was a great concept though.

Contest: I’ll buy you a woot shirt.

contestSo here’s the deal:

I’m going to buy your next woot shirt if I pick your name from the “bucket” for this contest.  You can enter once for each method.  You can enter using any or all of the following methods:

  • Digg, Stumble, or Sphinn this post. Yeah.  The buttons are right under the post.  That’s easy.
  • Mention this blog over at the woot.com forums or put a link to it in your signature.
  • Subscribe to the RSS feed THROUGH feedburner so I can verify your email address.
  • Write a blog post or tweet about me, this blog, or this post.

Make sure you leave a comment and tell me which ones you did.  I’ll tally everything next Monday and pick a winner.  I’ll buy the current woot, reserve the buy until the next shirt you want, or get a reckoning shirt.  If you have questions, leave a comment.

Woot Derby Updates

Greed 2We’re coming up on shirt.woot.com Derby #37: Greed. They’re offering up $1000.00 for first place in this derby and each derby to follow, thus the theme. I’ve submitted the two shirts you see here, so please stop by and vote on them! Both designs are the result of a hybrid idea that I just couldn’t get to look right. I decided to break the hybrids apart and do them separately. I really like the green on brown look a lot. Please let me know what you think.

Greed 1In the last derby, I placed 13th, up quite a bit from any progress I made before. I’d like to think I did a decent job, but really I think it was because it was such a tough set of rules to work with. There were some really great shirts, but I don’t think everyone was banging on all cylinders for that one.

How do you think the submissions compare?

EDIT:  Both submissions were rejected :-(

The “Blood Money” submission was rejected for having text (on the bill), and the “Ben Frankibal” submission wasn’t greedy enough.
