Review: The Shoemoney System is Meh for Advanced Users.

I’ve been checking out the Shoemoney System for the last few days, and I haven’t learned anything that I didn’t already know.  I’m hoping that it ramps up soon though.  The videos are basic basic basic, but I’m sure he’s just leveling the playing field for other users.

The sales letter when you first sign up seemed long and annoying.  Why not just do a buy button at the top?  I knew I wanted to try it, but still had to sift through all of that stuff.

The videos and coupons that he advertises are released slowly over time, so you can’t just buy a month, watch and download everything and then cancel (shucks).

It looks like the only complete content is the old podcasts that Jeremy did as Net Income and The ShoeMoney Show on Webmaster Radio, but I’ve heard all of those already.  It would have been cool if the did the work to edit them down into something more to the point.

I also haven’t been impressed by the promise that the first 100 signups for the system get a special bonus, but it’s been like a week and a half and we still don’t know who we hare.  I’m fairly sure I’m in the first 100, because I signed up in 3 minutes, but who knows.

Unfortunately, content is released so slowly that I don’t really have much to say.  One of the videos everyone can watch, because it’s public, and the other three are about things I know very well: setting up a Google account, what affiliate marketing is, and setting up a ClickBank account.

I also noticed that many of the users complained about the same things in the week 1 webinar, so I don’t feel completely alone with this.

My conclusion?  I’ll give it a little more time before I completely judge…

Wow, I’ve been sick…

I’ve been sick with the flu or something for the last week.  I just started to recover this weekend, but I feel like I could still sleep for a week.  I don’t think it was H1N1 (which I think is overrated anyways) or anything.  I ended up pretty dehydrated and drank a couple gallons on Friday and slept a ton more this weekend.  I maxed out my voice-mail for AT&T too…

I did go out this Friday and played pool (billiards) with a buzz on DayQuil. I shot pretty well surprisingly.  While I was out, I ate a TON of food.  I really needed to eat.  That really gave me the energy to push through.  I’ll get back on posting track SOON!

What do you use for cold/flu remedies?

Another HUGE 6.1 Aftershock in Haiti Today

This morning, January 20th at 6:03 AM, there was a huge aftershock in Haiti.  I can’t help but feel bad for both the people of Haiti and the aid workers there to help them.  This has reinforced the urgency of sending resources to them.  Please donate in any way you can.  Even if you have already donated, consider doing it again.  They really need it.  You can also donate directly on this site, and I’ll forward your funds them.

Email me or comment if you want to help.

Bill Gates is on Twitter

Oddly, I find it somewhat amusing that Bill Gates (@billgates) is getting into twitter so late in the game. Either way, as of right now, he has almost 100,000 followers in just over seven hours. I find that truly amazing, especially since Ashton Kutcher was so happy to make it to a million, but it took him forever.

I’m following him, and finding it interesting that he’s tweeted to Ryan Seacrest half of the time (twice).  Interesting.  I think maybe the catalyst for him was the tragedy in Haiti – which by the way, you should donate to right now – even if you already have.

Anyways, it’ll be interesting to see what he tweets about.  What do you think of this whole thing?  Twitter? Bill Gates?  I’m interested.

HDTV Contest

There’s a contest at YouReviewElectronics.com to win a free HDTV.  I think it’d be great to win this because – well it’s a bigger, better TV than the one that I have now.  If I do win it , I’ll do a review of it on my blog after having it for 30 days.  The website sponsoring this contest seems like a really great almost-but-not-quite wikipedia like way of getting many users to give their opinions on TVS.  What do you think about this 42″ Vizio?

2010 Polar Plunge

It’s that time of year again.  The 2010 Polar Plunge in Elmore, Vermont is coming up this January 30th.  I’m going to be jumping again.  I’m taking donations for people to watch me plunge.  I’ll be putting up a link soon. Make a donation by clicking on the button to the right! The plunge benefits Habitat for Humanity – they’re starting up a Lamoille County chapter to benefit local residents.  Have it in your heart to help out!

Check out this video from last year – I was wearing a Shoemoney shirt last year, but this year, I’ll wear whatever the highest bidder tells me to (within good taste).

I’ll be video taping again this year, so keep an eye out for the video :)

Affiliate Summit West 2009 Pictures (Part 2)

Ok everyone, here is part three of the pictures.  They’re somewhat out of order from the other posts.  Imagine that they go between the two sets.  These are from the “missing” memory card that my wife had!
